Red Chandeliers

To belong is a chaos

I know it

Because the lines never connect

and speckled dots we are

A wide grayness consumes us

because we were never there,

We leave the mahogany behind

driving in cars

riding on buses

walking down streets

riding bikes to speed up this world–

how fantastic we are

too busy to realize

every second matters

as the maroon glass shatters,

we are all but a million

billion, trillion pieces

as we partake in cranberry jam

on buttered biscuits

and it never leaves

our sweet systems behind–

to afford one is a greatness

but how much greater can we be

to each other

if only we could afford

each other.
